Ray Of Hope Church is: congregational - meaning the church is governed by the participant's vote. Pastors have one vote like everyone else. "The primary purpose for which this corporation is formed is sharing in the Worship of God in the Congregational Christian tradition. . . " Certificate of Incorporation, August 25, 1986.

progressive - Social Gospel Ministry- caring for all, and caring for this planet, now and for the future.

radically inclusive - all ethnic, cultural, traditions, and abilities.

liberal - Science, Education, and Politics are essential tools to protecting and making changes to our Democracy; and protecting our Religious Freedom so our church is legally protected. To live in the Spirit of the Lord, is to grow in liberation. See 2 Corinthians 3:17.

United in Christ - Ray Of Hope was started in 1983 by fourteen gay men, lesbians, and their allies in Syracuse, NY, to establish a united Christian church from all denominations and expressions for us and those affected by and infected with HIV / AIDS.

Ecumenical We follow universality, antiquity, and consent as we share in ministry with others.

Independent This church is all about what we can do and what are the possibilities on the horizon. We always think outside the box.
